The President of the Board of Trustees is Dr. Endre Horváth. The mission of the Foundation is to encourage the participation of socially disadvantaged groups in tourism activities. In order to deliver its goals, in December 2011 the Foundation launched the Erzsébet Program. The Erzsébet Program is the new system of social tourism in Hungary. As the first action of the Erzsébet Program, the Hungarian National Foundation for Recreation called for proposals among the socially disadvantaged – senior citizens, people with disabilities, large families, and social workers, employees of child protection and welfare organizations – in order to facilitate their recreation, in the total value of approximately EUR 6.8 million. In April 2012 the Foundation publishes new calls under the name of Erzsébet Camp, in the total value of approximately EUR 3.4 million, providing holiday fun at the lake of Balaton and other popular camp sites of Hungary to several tens of thousands of children and youth for one week during the summer school vacation.
